Sarah Azain Physiology 1101 Cultural Film Paper Culture can be defined as many things like customs, traditions, art, food, music and many other aspects that interest or relate to a group of people. There are many different cultures, just like there are many different languages. People all of the world do things differently because of their culture. My culture is very different from the culture of the family in “Tortilla Soup”. This film was about a Mexican-American family, the Naranjo’s, and the way they live their lives. One of the biggest differences in the Naranjo’s culture and my own culture is what we do at meal times. The father always prepared a meal for his three girls for dinner every night. The Naranjo family always sat down together and shared their events of the day with one another while they ate delicious Mexican food prepared by their father. All three girls live at home with their father and they love to share big announcements at the table. I think the meal times in this movie are very symbolic of the way they live their
