Muhammed also saw visions while on a retreat and had revelations there was the One God who spoke and who called people to Islam (which means complete, trusting surrender to God). In Muslim belief, God is all-knowing and has intelligently created everything for a divine purpose, governed by fixed laws that assure the harmonious and wondrous working of all creation. There is no god but God, and Muhammad is his Messenger. That is the belief. Followers of Islam only believe in one God.
