You may be able to succeed in the course with the firstedition, but there is much new content in the second edition.Additional readings will be available through links specified and throughCanvas.Canvas and ReservesLecture slides will be distributed via Canvas. Generally, these will be available theday after the lecture. Copies of all assignments will also be available on Canvas. PDFsand links to additional readings will be posted to Canvas as will occasionalannouncements.Required ScreeningWe will be screening thirteen films over the course of the semester. The screeningsoccur from 5:00-7:30 on Wednesdays. Attendance at these screenings is a requiredelement of the course, and you must attend at least ten of the thirteen screenings.Three percentwill be deducted from the overall grade for each screening missedbeyond three. You are responsible for tracking down and watching the films for anyscreenings that you miss. Extra credit will be extended to all who attend twelve ofthe thirteen screenings. If you have a regular conflict with this screening time,please see me and we will work out an alternative plan, but you will not be eligiblefor the extra credit.GradingFinal Project50%Other writing and reports15%Section10%Section Project10%Quizzes15%Attendance will be taken at all lectures and at the discussion sessions. It is yourresponsibility to make sure that you have signed in.
