-Mitosis plays a role in growth, development, repair and turnover of cells, and asexual reproduction -Sexual Reproduction: Cons (need two individuals, hard to find mate, and diseases/competition), Pros (Genetic Diversity, Replaces Damaged DNA) -Different plants have different ploidy for the different parts of their lifestyle -Algae(haploid dominant) and Fern(diploid dominant) -Imprinting is exposure to movement which sets who the mother is (example of nurture/environment) -An example of nature is the xy chromosomes in humans -Types of twins: Identical (single zygote divides in two that are the same) and Fraternal (two sperm and two eggs form two different zygotes) -Twin studies are used to determine the heritability of traits but there are some problems like the number of twins and the environments -when the environment is equal, genetic differences are magnified and when different, the environmental differences are magnified -Environmental effects may also play a role in determining sexuality.
