Stars that have low mass form into aT Tauristar before they go into the Main-sequence phase, while highmass stars skip this stage altogether. Both low mass and highmass stars will enter the main sequence phase; low mass starsreach the main-sequence phase much slower than high massstars.When a star with a mass higher than that of our Sun exitsthe main-sequence phase which or when the star has nohydrogen in its core left to burn it will enter its red giant phase. Inthis phase the star will use gravitational energy to create heat thatwill begin fusing hydrogen that stayed just outside the core duringthe main-sequence phase. The outer layers of the star will heatup and expand as more hydrogen is being fused in those layers.The star will then move up to the top right of the H-R diagrambecause it is much cooler but still burns very bright since burning
