Culture cannot be identified as a fixed entity but is a useful heuristic (to discover) which plays a major role in shaping and directing society. A culture is a collection of elements such as beliefs and principles, history, and acceptable behavior that influence people's thoughts, acts, and possessions in a community. Culture is often governed by rules, mores, folkways, and standards, many of which are linked to how people conduct their lives. Humans cannot live without civilization, because there would be no culture if humans did not exist (Lumen Learning, n.d.). Each of these elements within a culture is distinguished between material and nonmaterial culture. Difference Between Material and Nonmaterial Culture: That is the main difference between the two culture; Material culture is made of physical things while non material culture is made of ideas that non tangible (Little et al, 2014). Material cultures are objects, artifacts, possessions, or anything physical that was created by humans whereby people attach meaning to.
