Date: July 28, 20201 Microbiology, Chapter 20, Lymphatic System Chapter 20:Lymphatic system: The blood vessels transport blood which is red in color The lymphatic vessels tranpsort lymphy which is pale yellow Lymph is formed from blood.t his occurs at the capillaries where water and lelectrolytes that leaves the capillaries into body tissues not all is drained back into blood capillaries.The remaining fluid about 20 % is drained by the lymphatic capillaries and form lymph LYMPH: Pale yellow liquid composed of water,electrolytes,waste,and protein that leaked from blood capillaries into tissue spaces Lymphatic vessels: Inlcude the lymphatic capillaries and lymphatic vessels Their distribution in the body is simialr to venous distribution -All organs are supplied by the lymohatic vessels except the CNS -Lymphatic capillaries have a single layer of epithelium on its walls and contains larger pores than blood capillaries this is why water not rebsorbed into blood capillaries can easily enter lymphatic capillaries -Lymph is drained into the lymphatic capiilaries then into large lymohatic vessels and then into 2 largest lymphatic ducts ***The right arm,right side of the head,and right side of the thorax are drained in to the RIGHT LYMPHATIC DUCT
