Job postings often state that the successful applicant must have superior critical thinking andproblem-solving skills. Yet employers tell college administrators that graduates, both fromundergraduate and graduate programs, often lack these skills.Having read this week's assigned materials, how would you define critical thinking? Why are employers making these comments? Are they justified? Many critical thinking definitions revolve around the importance of analysis and problem-solvingin our personal and professional lives. It necessitates problem-solving abilities, inventiveness, logic, and a refusal to takeanything at face value. It is the willingness and ability to challenge everything (TeachThoughtStaff, 2020, para.7).
