American Politics Notes: March 4 th , 2008 The White House Office, the Office of Managements and Budget, and the National Security Council are the three most significant offices. White House Office The White House Office has 3 major responsibilities and wise Presidents give them a fourth responsibility… 1) Care, feeding, and scheduling of the President (White House physician and chef). 2) Policy development (people who are loyal to the President and were appointed by him). 3) Marketing of the President and his programs (White House advisors who show up on FOX to convince the public of the good/bad ideas that the President has proposed, people with opposite opinions debate, battle of ideas). 4) Put competent, qualified people who are longtime friends of yours (True friends will tell you what you need to hear rather than what you want to hear).
