Chantel Wynter Assignment #1 ENG 201 – Barbra Cole Are you a convinced American, A practicing citizen of the USA? What Kamal’s mother Dinaz meant when she asked this question in Roshni Ruustomi’s Thanksgiving in a Moonless Land was she was asking her daughter having lived in America so long does she consider herself to be American? Her mom wanted to know since she was born in America and has been living the American way of life but also being taught her roots and having her Indian culture instilled upon her as well, is she convinced that she is an American. What she means by being a convinced American is can her daughter come to terms with the fact that she is apart of the American way of life, meaning having done things that typical Americans do all your life even though her mother has done things that had to do with her Indian culture as well. With the second part of the question what she meant when she said “are u a practicing citizen of the USA”

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
