Parker Primary Subject - Social Studies Grade Level - 8 TEKS/TAKS Objectives: 8.8A Lesson Objective: The student will be able to explain the roles played by significant individuals during the Civil War, including Jefferson Davis, Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, and Abraham Lincoln Anticipatory Set: Warm-up activity: Students will answer multiple choice questions on overhead asking pertinent questions about the roles of Davis, Grant, Lee and Lincoln. Input Procedures: Power Point presentation (with pictures and maps) accompanied by lecture about the roles of Davis, Grant, Lee and Lincoln. Checking for Understanding: Check individuals and groups throughout the lesson Guided Practice: Divide class into four groups, assigning each group a subject (Davis, Grant, Lee or Lincoln). Have each group search their textbooks and the Internet for information on the roles their assignee played in the Civil War. Each group will make a poster listing the roles to
