Michael Chenette March 3, 2008 Fundamentals of Communication Clueless Speech Analysis Cher’s speech in “Clueless” is very funny. Although there is a sort of organization to it, it still is so badly presented that one can not help but laugh at the absurdity of the presentation. She does not have anyone’s attention, she keeps using slang and “like” a lot, she has many nervous habits, like putting her gum on her finger, during the presentation, and she goes from thought to thought instead of keeping it clear and concise. Upon first hearing this speech, one can not help to think why she is still in the class and is she passing the class. We look at all that she is doing in her presentation and we get confused. She is waving her arms around, she has her gum on her finger, and she is not truly staying on topic. She has a lot of habits that should be taken into consideration when giving a presentation.
