It illustrated the lifeof Marie Antoinette from her marriage to Louis XVI to the fall of Versailles. The movieemphasized Marie Antoinette’s relationship with her husband and their struggle to conceive anheir. I chose this movie because, being a Fashion Merchandising major, I took a History ofFashion class last year. My professor for the class showed bits of this movie to illustrate theelaborate clothing and hairstyles that were worn during this time. While the costumes andhairstyles are accurately ornate, the overall movie was a slightly accurate depiction of historicalevents.Historically, the people of France disliked Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI.
