Zembower 2What is identity? Identity is who you are, what makes you the person you are. Identity isn’t just looks, personality and bloodline. Identity is also where you come from, the foods you eat, traditions, the language you speak and so much more. When exploring identity, it is important to explore more than one thing. Even if someone is born in America, that doesn’t meanthey’re going to have the same identity as someone else. They could be from a very cultural background, meaning that the language they speak could be different, and their beliefs could be different. Just because someone is born in America (and other countries), does not mean they’re the same as everyone else. Identity takes time. Identity comes when you learn about yourself andyour surroundings. The main concepts of identity are personal interests, culture and location. Identity is not identified as soon as someone is born. Identity is highly influenced long before they are born. Personal interests take time to identify. As someone grows, their interests change, which also means their identity can change. In an article by Y Studios, they wrote “When we first get to know someone else, a common conversational thread concerns their interests. Their favorite movies and bands, how they relax or have fun, and what activities they like and dislike give us information on which we base our initial opinions.” Personal interests are
