Stephanie Smith Professor Zeytinoglu Speech Communication February 10, 2008 Weekly Essay #4 Issues in Communication 6 A son and a father no matter who you are have a very close relationship. Pearson states that Interpersonal Communication means the process of using messages to generate meaning between at least two people in a situation that allows mutual opportunities for both speaking and listening (Pearson et. al.136). Both the son and father had very good listening skills. But the Father just had his mind on to many things when his son was just trying to talk to him. Under the circumstances that the father was under I probably would have handled it the same way because he was stressed out. I am not agreeing with him at all that he should have yelled at his son. By the way the story is told it seems that the son isn’t included very much nor does he receive affection. For the first time he had control when he gave his father the twenty dollars to have some of his time. Between the father and son they have a separation problem that the father’s job is
