A Man for All Seasons First things first, I would just like to tell you how much I enjoyed this movie, great choice. Next, I would like to address a few events and, or, people that were found in the movie A Man for All Seasons . The first event in the movie I would like to look at is when Chancellor Wolsey leaves his title to Sir Thomas more. In the film, Wolsey becomes ill, and upon dying, chooses to leave his position to Thomas More. Upon researching this, I found out the following. Wolsey never personally supported King Henry’s wish to get an annulment, so he wrote the Pope for some assistance so that the problem would be taken care of promptly. However, Anne Boleyn was did not favor what the Wolsey or the Pope were most likely going to do, so she had Wolsey's physician bribed into falsely accusing Wolsey of urging the Pope to excommunicate Henry, so that he could personally seize the English throne. Not only this, but Wolsey had written Charles and Francis hoping that they would lend a hand with the issue, and Henry has also found out about this.
