Mark Wojoski 10-21-05 Seed Germination Lab In this experiment, the effects of gray water on radish seeds were determined by using detergent samples on the radish seeds. It was hypothesized that none of the radish seeds that were dampened with the detergent samples would grow. Materials and Methods Filter paper was placed inside of three separate plastic petri dishes. 3 mL of Tide detergent was mixed with 25 mL of tap water in a graduated cylinder to make a solution of gray water. Then 9 mL of Tide was mixed with 25 mL of water in a graduated cylinder to make a gray water solution that was 3-times stronger than the first solution of gray water. A pipet was used to dampen the first petri dish with 3 mL of tap water. This dish was labeled control with a magic marker. Then 3 mL of the first solution of gray water was added with a pipet to the filter paper and 3 mL of the stronger solution of gray water was added with a pipet to the filter paper of the second and third petri dishes, respectively. The second and third petri dishes were labeled with a magic marker to show
