2 Teacher: Kelsey Kobee Date : 8/3/21 Age/Grade Range; Developmental Level(s): 6/Kindergarten; Emergent Literacy Learner Anticipated Lesson Duration: 20-25 minutes MSED Literacy Activity Learning Objectives: (“I can” statements) “I can isolate initial sounds in a word.” Curricular Focus, Theme, or Subject Area: Theme: Pigs Common Core State Standards or other State/District Standards: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.2.D Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. 1 (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/) ( Common Core State Standards, 2021). Preassessments (List the 3 assessments used in week 2/week 3; cite them; provide a brief summary of the results on each): Oral Language Checklist (Reutzel & Cooter, 2019): Based on this pre-assessment, there a few oral language skills Robert has difficulty with which are: Comprehending complex or lengthy sentences, Making grammatical and usage errors in speech, and Articulating specific sounds in oral language (Reutzel & Cooter, 2019). Robert difficulty with verb usage when speaking. He also has difficulty articulating specific sounds. Mow Motorcycle Task (Reutzel & Cooter, 2019): Robert was given 10 pairs of word cards for this pre-assessment and he was able to choose the right word each time. Robert has a good understanding of how the length of a spoken word and printed words are related (Reutzel & Cooter, 2019). Blending Sounds Assessment (Reutzel & Cooter, 2019): When given part 1 of this pre-assessment, which focused on separating words into onset and rime, Robert was able to correctly name 15 out of 17 words. When given part 2 of this pre- assessment, which focused on separating words into individual sounds, Robert was able to correctly name 10 out of 17 words.
