Chapter 3: Research methodology3.1. IntroductionGenerally, philosophical assumptions are of significant importance in determiningvalidity of entire research methods. They are crucial in any research for instance in generation ofknowledge. In assessment of any examination, philosophical assumptions are equally important.According to Jha (2008) “Research methodology is the philosophical framework within whichthe research is conducted or the foundation upon which the research is based”. A researcher hasto integrate 2 important research criteria when undertaking research methodology (Randy, 2005).For preciseness, accuracy as well as meeting the study objectives, the researcher must ensureadaptive corrections and replication of the right methodologies (Saunders et al, 2012).Purposefully, the research aimed at understanding how to win the fashion wearable business inChina. Thus, this section presents the significant philosophical assumptions and designs thatsupports the study. In accordance to the phenomenon under study, research methodology hasbeen discussed as follows:the research philosophy, approach, methodology, ethical issues thatthe researcher must uphold, data analysis and presentation techniques, sampling techniques anddata collection methods3.2. Scope of the researchThe research aim was to investigate how the fashion companies win the fashion wearablebusiness in China. The findings of the research will equip the management of fashion wearablecompanies with adequate knowledge concerning the Chinese market and this will enable them tosuccessful establish their business operation in the Chinese market.3.3. Research questionsThis study mainly focuses on the following research questions.1.The main factors affecting the consideration of wearable technologies of potentialcustomers in China.2.The main growth drivers that should be exploited by business in order to standcompetitive in the market further exploring the factors preventing firms to move towardsgreater maturity.3.What makes Apple watch more successful compared to other brands.The above research question were chosen because they will enable fashion wearable businessorganizations to determine the main growth drivers, the main factor and factors that that makesApple Corporation succeed in the Chinese market. Thus is will be easier for the organization toreplicate these factors, improve them, introduce new and better aspects that would enable them tobe better than their competitors leading to the success of their organization in the Chineseeconomy.3.4.
