BMGT 1064 Fundamentals of Business Management /BMGT 1203 Principles of Management Page 1 of 6 Instructions to Students: 1. Assessment methods consist of the followings: ASSESSMENT METHODS MARKS GROUP ASSIGNMENT Report - 15% Presentation - 5% 2. This group assignment consist of MINIMUM TWO (2) and MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) people in the group. Assignment question must be enclosed with the “Marking Criteria”, typed with double spacing using Times New Roman font type (Size 12). Submitted booklet must be stapled. 3. Students are required to UPLOAD their assignments to a plagiarism website at your blackboard to check spelling, grammar and citation. Upon uploading, a REPORT will be generated and the students are required to print and to submit the report together with their assignments. Submission of assignment without this report will be REJECTED. 4. Students are to submit their assignment booklet ON or BEFORE 8th APRIL 2020 (WEEK 13). PRESENTATION WILL BE CONDUCTED ON THE SAME DAY. 5. All REPORTS are to be submitted to RESPECTIVE LECTURER . NO EXTENSION WILL BE GRANTED.
GROUP ASSIGNMENT (Total: 20%) Report (30 Marks) Length of report: 1000- 1200 words QUESTION (a) As the production supervisor of XYZ Co, you recognize that there is a problem with the production process and had identified a faulty machine which was causing the problem. Your manager has instructed you to make an effective decision pertaining to the problem and to present your decision to him in the following format:- i) Illustrate the importance of effective decision making in management. (12 marks) ii) Explain the steps in the decision-making process. (9 marks) iii) Describe your decision process as it relates to the steps of the rational decision-making process. (9 marks) The completion of the following assignment requires the student to include the following: 1. Referencing (follow APA Referencing) Presentation [10 Marks] Guidelines for GROUP presentation: 1. Time length: 10 - 15 minutes maximum including set-up. On the day of your presentation, please come to class 5 min. before class begins to set up for your presentation.
