Generation Alpha are the people succeeding generation Z. Generation Z people’s starting birth years were mid to late 1990s and the early 2010s as ending birth years. In this order generation Alpha are the people born in the years after 2010 to mid 2020s. The name Generation Alpha took birth from a survey conducted by Australian Consulting Agency McCrindle research in 2008. Generation Alpha is the first one to be born in the 21 st century. It is a growing and lucrative consumer market as they are born in a time where service sector of the Economy is the largest. It is the first group of people to have spent their entire lives with technology, and as the pattern shows they will be completely dependent on it for the rest of their lives. The two Motivational Theories that I find the least adaptive for Generation Alpha are Maslow’s Hierarchy Theory of Needs and McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y. What is Maslow’s Hierarchy Theory of Needs? Maslows theory of hierarcy needs is used to study how humans react in behavioural motivation. Maslow hierachy of needs is baiscally a ladder or a pyramid with the most basic needs at the bottom, psychological needs in between and self fulfillment needs at the top. He inferred that in order for motivation to arrive at the next stage, one must satisfy itself with the current stage.
