Wax Museum/Student Expectation OutlineSocial Studies Standard: NY:7.3 American Independence: Growing tensions over politicalpower and economic issues sparked a movement for independence from Great Britain. New Yorkplayed a critical role in the course and outcome of the American Revolution.Art Standards: NY:TH: Cr21.7 – Examine and justify original ideas and artistic choices based on critical analysis,historical and cultural context.TH: Cr3.1.7b – Develop effective physical and vocal traits of characters.VA: Pr6.1.7 – Compart and contrast viewing and experiencing collections and exhibitions indifferent venues.Learning Objective:Students will learn about the important historical figures involved duringthe American Revolution. They will explain who they are and what they did during theRevolution.How and where the Wax Museum will be presented:In my 7thgrade class, each student will pick from a list of important historical figuresfrom the time of the American Revolution. This can include George Washington, Paul Revere,Benjamin Franklin, and many more. A week before, I will put a list of names in a jar and eachstudent will pick a name and that is the person they will represent in the Wax Museum. Studentswill write at leastone to two pages about the person they are representing to post next to them.
