Who are the principals named in this agreement? i. Songwriter ii. Band (any number of individuals) iii. Record company iv. Corporation (and corporate possessions) 1. CEO can sign c. Who signs for an estate? i. Example: Elvis ii. The executor of the estate iii. Either appointed in will or appointed by the court. Will say across the top: Recording and Distribution Contract Then state who the writer and the company is. 2. Terms a. Delivery of product b. Suitable for commercial release i. Artist will NEVER beat the label when fighting on this. ii. Label will ask artist to “reconstitute the product” 1. AKA your stuff sucks, redo it. c.
