Education and Equality In the video, Affirmative Action vs. Cultural Diversity , they discuss points that are given to students that are applying to college. The points that are given are based on GPA, School, curriculum, and ACT/SAT scores. There are more points given to specific groups of students like African Americans and those that play sports than students that are Caucasian. In the video, they discuss specifically one African American student that came from a wealthy family and why she should get twenty extra points to help her get into college as opposed to a student that is Caucasian and comes from a poor family only getting nineteen (CNBC Productions, 2003). I would have to say that I am outraged at the possibility that my own children, who are white and come from a low income family, will only get a total of nineteen extra points to help them get into college but an African American student will get twenty extra points even when they come from a wealthy family. I feel that those students that come from low income families should get
