In the book “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien it is a fantasy world, muchdifferent than the world created in the movie “Blade Runner”. What can be said tothe times where both of those “stories” have been published and how could thathave influenced the authors as well as the readers?In science fiction there are different worlds colliding with each other; differenttopics from time travel to what is happening in the current time, to superheroes andaliens destroying the planets. It is such a broad topic that no one can really put everyaspect of science fiction or speculative fiction into one word. However the imaginaryworlds created by most authors can broadly be categorized into utopian as well asdystopian.Utopia is a perfect world. In utopias, there are not problems like war, disease,poverty, oppression, discrimination, inequality, or other problems. Moreover peopledream of a utopian world, where they would not have to be worried about anything.Nevertheless even if some people dream about it, a utopian world would not work outwith humanity as well.
