FAMILY INTERVIEW - COMPARE AND CONTRAST CULTURES The culture of a family member can have a significant impact on how people behave in society. It influences each individual’s choices from the time they are born, into their older years. However, culture within family will slowly shift as families evolve, because the family undergoes continuous change as each member moves through various stages in life. Furthermore, culture serves as framework for people to interpret and enact their own person rules and norms (Arias & Punyanunt-Carter, 2017). This past week I had an opportunity to interview two individuals from different backgrounds about their culture within family and how it effects their life. In this essay I will summarize their responses, discuss the various facets of family roles, and how they affect our cultural domains. Diversity within my community in northern California has played an immense role in my life, there-fore when selecting interviewees, I wanted to pick two individuals from different backgrounds. My first interviewee is my neighbor, Beth. She is fifty-nine year old Caucasian women born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She has been amazing neighbor to my wife and me.
