Good Afternoon Class,This week has been extremely difficult for me and I have watched YouTubevideoafter YouTube video to try and learn the concepts. I think I finally haveit figured out.I looked at my original 10 vehicles and determined the average was 88,737.Four of my vehicles were above the average, and Six were below myaverage. This gave me a (p) value of 0.6 and (q) value of 0.4Finding the probabilities for exactly, fewer than, more than, and at least Iused the excel formulas to get these answers. For exactly you wanted tofind p(x=?), using the BINOM.DIST () function. In the parenthesis you wantto put the X value, n value, the p value, and either true or false. True whenyou have a less than or equals to and false for an equal. In this case we willuse 4 or x, 10 for n, .6 for p, and false because it is an equal’s probability toget 11%.For fewer than we would use the formula p(x<?).
