02/06/2006 20:49:00 Israel Seminar Essay Question: How are Jewish teens and youth in the Diaspora affected by Israel’s existence today, and the way it chooses to exist? Answer: Jewish teens and youth in the Diaspora today have mixed feelings about Israel’s existence. Our generation differs from others, in that its opinions are mixed within each denomination. There are some reform Jews that feel that Israel should not exist, or do not put as much emphasis on an Israel experience. There are also reform Jews that feel that every Jew should have an Israel experience, or make Aliyah. There are orthodox Jews that are Zionists, and there are orthodox Jews that feel contrarily. In assertion, there are many opinions on Israel’s existence, and many opinions on the way that Israel chooses to exist as Jewish state, and these opinions are best reflected by the youth in the Diaspora.
