Rohan Shah 1388839 Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Biology 190: DNA and Forensics Chapters 1-4 Summary The story Pointing from the Grave, written by Samantha Weinberg, is the true story of the use of DNA in solving criminal offenses, specifically in the case of this story, the crime committed on Helena Greenwood one night in 1984. A young British scientist, Helena was working in San Francisco for a company named Syva, living an every day life. After just purchasing a house, her house was invaded by a hooded stranger, who, holding a gun, demanded oral sex from Helena. After the event, the stranger fled, and Helena locked herself in her bathroom. She called the police, and reported to Detective Steve Chaput, the investigating officer in the case. Reporting all of the details of the case, Helena left, not to return to that house, but to a safer location. After returning to the house to retrieve some personal items, it was only then she noticed the tea pot outside on the balcony, outside of the
