Explain the differences between Document Management and Records Management in terms of the
benefits they can provide to an organizations Information Management Strategy.
Records management can be defined as “
field of management responsible for the efficient and
systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use and disposition of records, including
processes for capturing, and maintaining evidence of and information about business activities and
transactions in the form of records
” [CITATION Pro171 \l 1033 ]. Records management system is a
system that includes technology, processes, and individuals. Due to their unique transactional
qualities’ records are different to the other sources of information which make them more
dependable and genuine. Because the records can be easily altered and use unfairly, a high-quality
records management is critical in a digital world and it confirms a successful
administration[ CITATION Pro171 \l 1033 ].
