PHOTOSYNTHESIS02.07 LAB REPORTMr. Jayden Porter
What happens during photosynthesis (the light-dependent reactions and the light-independentreactions)Photosynthesis is a process which is divided intwo stages. In 1stphase, light energy isdetained and used to produce high-energymolecules like ATP and NADPH. This reaction iscalled light reaction. These reactions occur onthylakoid membranes of chloroplasts. During 2ndphase, CO2 is reduced for making the glucose. So in this process, the energies of reaction fromhigh energy molecules like ATP and NADPH arecompletely utilized. Although like thesereactions do not uses light directly. That is whythese reactions are famous as dark reactions.
Light Reactions:Complete descriptions of events of light reactions are:Molecules of chlorophyll absorb light so their level ofenergy increases and their electrons are emittedAs electrons are passed by electron transport chainfor producing the Adenosine tri phosphate.
