Article review: The Worksheet Dilemma: Benefits of Play-Based Curricula This article is about the worksheet dilemma. Kids may realize putting down a wrong answer is emotionally costly to them. Problem solving includes an element risk. In order for kids to learn how to solve problems we must create a safe environment where they feel the comfortable and confident for taking risks. Every day there always a chance for kids to learn about reading, writing, and math in a play based curriculum. Children can understand numbers, quantity, size, and many other mathematical concepts. There are many tasks for children to accomplish when they are young. Cognitive Development is usually the stage where most preschool and kindergarten children are at. In this stage letter and numerals means little to three to six year olds. Young children three to six years old usually use concrete rather than abstract symbols to represent objects and ideas. Children has an opportunity to develop the ability to think abstractly by experiencing real objects in their hands using their senses in a play based curriculum.
