There are 11 (eleven) response papers in this class, which together constitute 30 percent of the
total grade. Ten of them are based on the documents included in the Course Reader, which is
available on Blackboard under “Content” tab. One Response Paper is based on the movie. The
Class Syllabus explains how you can access this movie. The questions which you need to
answer are located in “Response Papers (questions)” folder under “Content” tab as well.
All the chapters have introductions which explain the origins of the documents and put them into
historical framework. Prior to answering the questions, you should read these introductions and to
watch the lectures uploaded on YouTube. See the “Lecture and Response Paper Schedule” of the
Class Syllabus.
