I am here today to talk to you about a constant problem in our school system. There are too many football and male basketball players not getting their diplomas. The graduation rate has been at about twenty-five percent the past ten years and it is time for a change! I am here to help these athletes succeed in school so they can succeed in life. If any banned substances are found during these weekly checks the student-athlete(s) will be punished accordingly. There are also drug tests for each athlete every three weeks to decrease the enticing nature of prohibited substances. Due to the student-athletes drop out rate there are new academic rules set in place. The minimum GPA of a student-athlete has been raised to 2.5 in an attempt to keep students motivated. To help the athletes succeed with this new policy, we have created a study hall that they must attend every week night they do not have a game. This study period will last an hour and a half. During this time students are able to create study groups, get help with free tutoring, and sign up for classes that teach
