From The Enlightenment period to contemporary approaches to social science, the
disciplines that comprise social science have evolved a great deal. An example of the evolution
of research methodologies in social science comes via the effects of globalization and
technological advances. Researchers no longer need to be in the same physical location as a
study participant, and thus, the study participants themselves can become more varied, which in
