David Zausner 0159825 Real World Biology 3 Impotence is a very tough situation for any man. Simply put, impotence is a sexual dysfunction where an individual loses the ability to go through the proper stages of arousal and cannot maintain an erection. When this happens, there are two usual reasons for such problems. The majority of erectile dysfunction issues stem from physiological or psychological issues. Normally a psychological erection is formed when stimuli signal through the limbic system of the brain, upon which a neural system is tapped to form a proper erection. Aiding the creation of an erection is the proper levels of testosterone present, and a functioning pituitary gland are required to ensure normal healthy erection levels. Normally, it is a certain chemical imbalance that leads to the case of impotence. Thankfully, due to breakthroughs in science, there is now a pill more commonly known as its Pfizer name as “Viagra”.
