A More Perfect Union Barack Obama is one of the most influential speakers I have ever personally seen speak to a group of people. When he was campaigning in my hometown of Cedar Rapids, IA, I had the opportunity to listen to his message about, “Change.” Change is a word that can’t necessarily be thrown around by anyone but there is just something about that word when it used in Barack Obama’s speeches. We all know that Barack is looking to move in the common direction we are which is out of the recession we are currently in and he also looks to the future as a turning point in our countries history. I found it very interesting in his speech, “A More Perfect Union,” that he first spoke about his heritage and how he was raised. I feel like by him telling the public he was raised by a mixed family which included he had a white mother and grandmother who raised him, it made him connect more with the white population. Currently Barack Obama is looking to try and get and the white man’s vote. I was very proud of my home
