How would you support Obama Care? The stated purpose of Obamacare was to reduce health insurance costs for MOST Americans, by widening the base of insured people, with the incidental advantage that more people would have insurance. And despite all the arguments and rumors and lies and smears and bloviation, it appears that it actually will perform to its promise. The plan has been buggy, but it's a very big plan and these kinds of things always have trouble at first. GW Bush's Medicare prescription drug plan also had trouble with the website at first. They said they'd delayed it a few days because it was Yom Kippur and they didn't want to insult Jewish people! 8^P There are some good, valid reasons to oppose Obamacare. It was not the comprehensive reform we needed and wanted. It was a compromise. Obama gave up some of the things it needed to work right. For instance he allowed states to opt out of some things, so Obamacare doesn't work very well in those states. But 90% of the opposition you see to Obamacare has nothing to do with health care policy at all! It has to do with opposition to Obama. The Republicans are desperate to deprive Obama of his 'signature achievement'. They feel it is just intolerable to have a Democrat in the White House. Now as to the economy. We have consistently seen bigger economic growth under Democrats than Republicans for at least 100 years. Don't take my word for it, google it yourself! The only Republican in the top 5 is Reagan, and he did that by tripling the entire pre-existing national debt! In fact, despite generally smaller economic growth under the Republicans, they have also grown the debt by the most, by far! Of our nearly $17 trillion debt, $13 trillion came under only the last three Republican presidents. Those were the ones who promised in their campaigns to make the budget their top priority. In Texas they kill people with neglect. Obamacare is better. I mean that literally. Texas cuts off Medicaid at about $950 a month KNOWING DARN RIGHT WELL that terminallyill disabled people average $1200 a month in federal disability income according to 60 Minutes. Texas teabaggers sit back and cheer as they die one by one. They love the Texas Republican Death Panel, and so does Sarah Palin. As far as debt and the Democratic party, it's complicated. Obama is effectively a Republican, but most of the rest are grownups. Bill Clinton balanced the budget. So will Hillary after 2016. However, by then we might already be paying $1 trillion a year in
