Background of the Study In an article called “Family Life in the Philippines” from AFS-USA.org, students depend on their parents when it comes to decisions that involve money. Allowances and other resources used for transportation, school projects, snacks, socializing and personal items in the Philippines are requested from the parents.
Background of the Study As stated in the Cambridge Business Dictionary for English, “Budgeting is the process of calculating how much money you must earn or save during a particular period of time, and of planning how you will spend it.” Budgeting is a tedious task encountered frequently not only by adults, but also by students who are given money for their allowances. The researchers became concerned as to how essential budgeting is, in a college student’s life. Budgeting and allocating financial resources is important especially with the rapid growth of prices for goods and necessities.
Background of the Study In this study, the topic is the budgeting capabilities of graduating Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) students of Systems Technology Institute (STI) – Global City. This research purpose is to know the variables that affect a graduating Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) student’s resource management decisions and to know how it can be improved depending on their personal and school expenses.
