CHPL 598IntroductionGrowing closer to God and becoming more Christ-like is an essential element of theChristian life. Spiritual disciplines are the avenues in which we grow spiritually. There areseveral reasons that spiritual development is necessary, and all believers must make spiritualgrowth a priority in life. Throughout the course work and readings, I have realized that I havebeen doing a few of the spiritual disciplines not consistently enough and others not all. MySpiritual plan will be developed to aid me in the journey of spiritual discipline. We are called to move beyond a fundamental, intro-level faith (Heb 5:11-14) and to notjust "exist" but to "run to win" (1 Cor 9:24-27).We need to consistently move toward maturity ifwe want God's most profound wisdom (Prov 2:1-11; Mark 4:24-25). Continual spiritual growthand connection with God are essential for us to best use the spiritual gifts God has given us (John15:1-8).Jesus came to show us life to the full (John 10:10). "Life to the full" is an ongoingjourney—not a one-time event or "arrival."1.I seek God through prayer to show me the areas inmy life that I need to improve. God will give me wisdom and correction with needed as long as I maintain myrelationship with him. God consistently corrects and forms the character of those who submittheir wills to his will.In my journey with the Lord, I have concluded that God knows best, andwhen he says no, it is for my good.My son,do not despise theLORD'Sdisciplineand do not1.“How to Create a Spiritual Growth Plan (5 Steps),” Vibrant Christian Living, July 18, 2020,httLLps://vibrantchristianliving.com/spiritual-growth-plan/.1

The Holy Scriptures teachrighteousness, Godly living, correction, and the revelation of God's Character and plan ofsalvation for humanity. The Bible is full of numerous examples of the catastrophic results that
