Going into my first year of college, it was hard to truly prepare for what this experience would actually be like. In my Freshmen Communications Seminar, our class discussed time management, who we surround ourselves with, and the expectations of the Communications Department. This leads back to analyzing my study skills in high school, how those habits will work in college, establishing routines for my first semester, and setting goals I should accomplish.Traveling back to my high school days, I never had a need for solid study skills. I was an AP and honors student, but I was also one of those kids where school came easy to me. I had decent amounts of homework, but I procrastinated most of it. This was not very effective, and it often left me stressed and exhausted. If I did ever study, I tended to do it late at night the day before my test. I had no routine, and I usually had the TV or music on. I didn’t develop any real study skills, but I knew I would need to heading into college.
