Module 2 Town Hall Team Contract
Note: Each student completes a Town Hall Meeting Team Contract and submits it in Module 2

The team contract establishes a mutually agreed upon “way of doing business” that each member of the team
agrees and commits to. A team contract can bring much needed direction and clarity to a group before it begins
task deliberations. During Module 2 , you and your team discuss how you will function as a group. This form
will help guide your discussion.
Keep in mind that the Group area in Blackboard is the public forum for discussion and is the best place to do
most of your communication to ensure that all members are included and there is a record of your interaction.
To plan for your Town Hall Meeting, first familiarize yourself with the Town Hall Meeting Assignment and
introduce yourselves to each other in your Group area.
Ground Rules: These ground rules act as a code of conduct for group members and provide a basic structure
for conducting effective teamwork. Keep in mind that a successful team project is dependent on the efforts of
everyone to abide by the rules and to actively and equitably participate in group work.
 Communicate publicly within your group Discussion area of Blackboard as much as possible. Although
alternative methods of communication may be available, discussions in this forum serve as a record of
your work and participation.
 Be involved and participate in the Group Discussion area at least twice a week. Participation in the
group discussion should be meaningful, such as expressing a detailed opinion or offering a suggestion.
 Respectfully consider all ideas. Differences in opinion are fine as long as dialogue is open to
considering all viewpoints; always aim for consensus.
