the ligand by coordinate bond which is the oxygen atom from the H 2 O ligand. Around the central of metal atom, the ligands will be arranged in an ordered manner. There are many stereochemistry’s linked with these complexes. The most familiar are coordination number 4 and 6. Cis-trans isomerism and facial-meridional isomerism are the two main types of geometric isomerism. In complexes, it will have two of one type of donor and four of another and appears as [Co(NH 3 )4Cl 2 ] + as the first form. The second form will appear as [Co(NH 3 )3Cl 3 ] which will have three of one type of donor atoms and three of another. Dichloride salt of the coordination complex [Co(NH 3 ) 5 Cl] 2+ is Chloropentamminecobalt(III) chloride. This dichloride salt will be in red-violet colour and it’s a water-soluble salt which is diamagnetic too.
