The projection to sell one million iPhones in Japan never came to fruition , and sales still remain low . Japan had a few problems with the Apple iPhone, not limited to the touch screens , the size and the amount of storage included in the iPhone. The iPhone lagged behind what was already available in Japan. Cell phone users in Japan are captivated with photos, video games , video chats, and other high end technology features . Apple just could not compete with what other cell phone companies were already providing . Japan made a mistake by bringing to market the Apple iPhone in Japan at the time they did .
