UA: WW II Nakaya Domina 7-22-21 Task 1 For the first task [A] in the unit activity, I will be completing the decoding activity, During the battle of Iwo Jima, six Navajo code talkers transmitted over 800 messages in code without error to the US military leaders over the duration of the month-long war. The task provided for me to complete include decoding a message and translate the message to be comprehended and understood easily. Message Before decoding: Sheep-Uncle-Ram-Ice-Bear-Ant-Cat-Horse-Itch Message in Navajo Translation: Dibeh, Shi-da, Dah-nes-tsa, Tkin, Shush, Wol-La-Chee, Moasi, Lin, Yeh-hes. Decoded message: “SURIBACHI” The First Task [ B] Is asking me to use the translated message to find out what portion of the island the US leader needs to attack to take down the Japanese Stronghold that was hiding in mount Suribachi, Awaiting for a command to attack the Navajo. which is (Mount Suribachi) I will include the map below.
