1. Ashoka was an emperor from the Maurya Dynasty who ruled most of India and
helped spread Buddhism across India.
2. Three aspects of Ashoka’s dharma were that dharma had to do with respecting
your parents, teachers and elders and holding them at the highest value in their
lives. Even respectign slaves and people who were poor. Another aspect was
that cruelty towards living things and slathering of animals was against dharma.
Talking about this the edict states “ how the sound of war drums became a call
for drama rather than war” (875). Lastly the third aspect of Ashoka’s dharma was
that practicing dharma would be impossible for an immoral person.
