THE MYERS - BRIGGS FRAMEWORKThis is a famous questionnaire with 100 items that is commonly used in organizations to understandpeople. The Myers — Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) questions people, based on Carl Jung's famous work,how they generally feel or respond in a certain situation. Based on the responses collected, humans aredistinguished by four general dimensions: sensing, intuition, judgement and perception. In eachdimension, higher and lower places are utilized to divide people into seventeen different categories.The MBTI is a prominent tool for evaluating personality types. It is commonly utilized in the process ofselection. It is believed that as many as two million people in the United States take it every year.Research indicates that MBTI is an effective way to determine styles of communication and preferencesof contact. There are, however, issues concerning the validity and stability of the instrument with regardto personality traits.The Big Five ModelThere may be doubts about the stability and validity of the MBTI, but the same cannot be said about thefive factor personality model – commonly known as the "Big five."The ability to get along with others is referred to as agreeableness. Highly pleasant people cherishharmony more than their say or way. They are cooperative and trustful.
