Week 5 – Discussion - Cultural Competence Sharing and ReflectionKaryn Lenhardt-BettsECE 405: Children & Families in a Diverse SocietyInstructor: Andrea LaraFebruary 12, 2015Google Sites Link to Children and Families in a Diverse Society e-portfolioCulturally Relevant Methods (CRM) are those methods and practices of teaching that empowers students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and politically by using cultural referents to impart knowledge, skills, and attitudes. These methods are important to me as an educator because children learn best using scaffolding methods that build on previous knowledge.
