The Peloponnesian War was fought between Athens and Sparta. At this time, Athens was in control of the Delian League. Athens moved the treasury to the center of their city and were fully in control of everything. After the war, all of Greece was weakened (1). Thucydides was an Athenian general who recorded history for future readers. Some of his works includes Pericles Funeral Oration, Melian Debate, Civil War in Corcyra and The Plague. The Plague was written by him during the Peloponnesian Warwhile he was in exile which made the Athenians weak. Athens fell apart after the war and The Plague helped future readers find out exactly what happened during those times. Also, the Civil War at Corcyra was a story about an internal issue of the Delian League (2). Thucydides was blamed for the capture of Amphipolis and exiled because of that (3). “This led to him being condemned to death and fleeing to his Thracian estate.
