One such researcher is studying the people in an urban slum. She learns through their confidence that certain members of the community are involved in a car-theft ring. She does not report them to the police. The sociologist did the right thing in this situation through the scope of Ethics of Care. She has become a part of the community and does not wish to damage them, and in this situation, the sociologist would be the caregiver while the community would be the cared for.
